This week, Year 2 took part in an important PSHE lesson all about bullying, what it means, and how we can make sure everyone in our school feels safe, happy and respected.
We began by exploring what bullying actually is. The children learned that bullying is when someone is unkind on purpose, more than once, and it makes another person feel upset or unsafe.
Ava said “Bullying means hurting people.”
Abubakr said ” Bullying means when somebody does something bad to you and it happens over and over again.”
To help us reflect and empathise in these types of situations, we looked at different scenarios and decided whether the behaviour shown was acceptable or unacceptable. The children explained their thinking clearly and reflected on what they would do if they ever saw something similar happen.
They suggested:
- Be brave and firm by telling the bully to stop.
- Be in control and tell an adult because revenge is not okay.
- Check if your friend is doing okay.
Then, children made powerful anti‑bullying posters filled with advice on how to stop bullying and how to be a good friend.

Their posters are now proudly displayed in the classroom as a reminder that everyone has a role in making our school a safe, caring and welcoming place.
