Christmas Songs by Year 5 and 6

In an unprecedented occasion the whole school presented 7 shows in their Christmas presentation this year singing over 20 songs from a traditional themed nativity to the first world war Christmas truce and Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. An incredible achievement and such diverse entertainment for all! Who could ever forget the colourful, sparking ‘Big Bad Ben of Bethlehem’ or resist the charming community room shows from Nursery. ‘Blue Star’ and ‘Snowman at Sunset’.

Reception’s ‘Scarecrow’s Christmas’ had the audience rocking in the aisles with the children’s enthusiasm and year 4’s ‘Christmas 1914’ produced a tear or two from their tribute to the fallen of Word War 1, their theme project for this term. They sang ‘Silent Night’ in German and the song ‘We will Remember Them’ brought a lump to the throat particularly.

Year 5 studied the life of Charles Dickens this term and produced some wonderful work at Wilton’s Music Hall as well as providing us all with ‘Rocking Around the Christmas Tree’ ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ and ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’ in French! Year 6 reprised their Shakespeare Schools Festival performance of ‘Twelfth Night’. They are rapidly learning the language and world of William Shakespeare!

This was a massive team effort, everybody had so much fun and enjoyment. Congratulations everyone and a Merry Christmas!
