This week, we started by doing research for a report that we are doing on minibeasts. We chose to do our report about a minibeast called a centipede, and then we all wrote our own one. We enjoyed it because there was writing and drawing. All of this week we have been bringing in more habitats from home. We have been making them as a project, and today we shared them with our learning partner, with our class and with other adults and classes at school.

O u r h a l f – t e r m:
Kareema: “I remember exploring the microhabitats in our school garden and finding small creatures. We looked under logs, in trees and in the leaves. I have also been going to a fun cooking club after school with my friends.”
Amber: “When we visited The Soanes Centre, we learnt that plants and animals are both organisms because they are living things. We also caught insects in a pond habitat, and we had a close look at them under a microscope and with a magnifying glass. Is was so much fun!”
Adyan: “Did you know that deserts can be found in cold places too. A desert is just a place with hardly any rain.“

Maryam: “Ms Mullings last week was this week, so we made a gift for her. We are going to miss her, but we are happy she was here.”
Zuhayr: “This half-term, we learnt about habitats and what living things need to survive. Centipedes can survive in a lot of different habitats such as the savannah, the forest and even the polar tundra habitat.”
Lamisha: “I enjoyed playing tag in the playground with my teacher at playtime.”
Adam: “In maths we finished learning about shapes. There are 2D and 3D shapes.”
Christopher: “I learnt how to do lead-outs on my letters in handwriting. Next half-term we are joining our letters together.”

Sulayman: “One of my favourite parts of this half-term was building my habitat with my mum and my sister then bringing it in to school to show everyone. I was excited when I told everyone how we did it. I made a rainforest using cardboard, paper, glue, coloured pens and fabric.”
