Year 3’s theme for this half term is the Stone Age. This afternoon we’ve been having lots of fun making cave art! First we painted small rocks with acrylic paint. We used small paintbrushes and painted animals and people like the art found on the walls of the Lascaux Caves in France.

Next, we looked at how people signed their cave art. They used their handprints! We made repeated patterns through printing negative shapes of our own handprints. We also experimented with colour overlays, and the results were very effective.
