Here are some of the highlights from our half term. We would like to tell you all about them:

“On STEAM Day, some of us wore costumes to make movie trailers, and we got to go to other classrooms to do other activities about science, technology, engineering, arts and maths.” – Rayan and Zahraa

“In geography, we learnt about longitude and latitude. Lines of latitude are the imaginary lines that go sideways around the Earth and the equator is at the middle.” – Maryam I and Amelia

“On World Book Day we had the opportunity to share our books from home.” – Zayed

During our last week, we visited the British Museum to see different artefacts that ancient civilisations have left behind. These ancient civilisations all had organised societies and lasting legacies. A lasting legacy is a success that you leave behind. Aamilah, Umaira

“We were excited because we were desperate to explore all the amazing exhibits.” – Maisha

“The sculptures were very interesting, but we weren’t allowed to touch them because they were fragile.” – Safia and Rukaiya

“It was really interesting, and I read lots of information while looking at the objects.” Afsana

We looked at some very old artefacts, and they helped us think about the reasons why the civilisations we studied were so successful:

The end to our half term also included the Easter Hat Parade. We made our hats out of recycled material instead of using new resources or throwing the old material away. We found it very enjoyable, and the parade made us feel a bit nervous because we had to walk down the stage in front of the whole school plus some judges. Aamilah

“The parade was exciting. Everybody looked spectacular.” – Rukaiya

“The students with the winning hats were awarded with an surprise Easter egg.” – Zahraa

“The marvellous parade made us all feel very happy.” – Zayed and Adyan
