Today, Delaunay welcomed the fantastic opportunity to sing at the borough’s town hall. Along with other local schools, Lansbury’s year twos learned to perform a selection of songs from around the world led by Tower Hamlets Arts & Music Education Service (THAMES).

THAMES work hard to ensure that all children and young people in Tower Hamlets have access to a range of high quality arts opportunities, and today’s performance was ended with a showcase to parents, carers and families. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, and we even got to find out a bit about the town hall too: did you know that it used to be a hospital – you can still see part of the original brickwork!

Following the event, we were given resources for all the songs to take away with us so that we can continue to use them in the classroom. In our upcoming music lessons, we are looking forward to adding our own hand percussion.
