This week Reception went on their very first adventure to our local park, Bartlett Park. We took an Autumn walk and talked about how the environment changes with the season. Hamilton class noticed that many leaves had fallen from the trees and that their colours had changed. We spotted yellow, brown, orange, green and red leaves along the way.

Hamilton class also noticed that during Autumn, the weather gets much colder and windy, so we need to make sure we are wearing the right type of clothing! Reception has made sure to wear their jackets, hats, scarves and even gloves to make sure they are all warm and toasty

During our walk, Hamilton class enjoyed collecting leaves of different shapes and colours. Back in the classroom, we used them to create our own leaf garlands using string and hole punchers.

To end our trip, the children spent some time in the playground, enjoying the swings, the roundabout and, of course, “the very big slide.” It was a fantastic first trip full of learning, exploring and lots of giggles.
