Earlier this week, Delaunay class had a very special treat for reaching the top of their kindness tower — story time with our wonderful Year Six reading buddies in Hadid! Delaunay children voted for this out of all the choices on offer, and in one of our children’s words: I like story time because I can imagine myself in different adventures, and I think the big children will be able to bring the story to life!
Hadid arrived with a delightful selection of books tucked under their arms, ready to entertain and inspire our young readers – which they certainly did. From adventurous tales to laugh-out-loud stories, the Year Six children captivated their younger peers with expressive reading and animated storytelling. It was so nice to see the Year Two children so engaged and listening eagerly.
The shared moment fostered a love of reading across year groups. Hadid children took great pride in their role as storytellers, and Delaunay were thrilled to have such enthusiastic and caring reading partners.
