Every Friday, we do a reasoning and problem solving lesson in Maths.

Problem 1:
Problem 2:
Problem solving lessons allow students to gain a range of skills such as working with money – converting pound and pence, multiplication and division – using times tables to solve equations, addition and subtraction – calculating total cost and change, ratio and proportion – understanding relationships (twice as many, four times as many). It is great to see the students be resilient and persevere by trying different approaches when the solution isn’t obvious straight away.
We love problem solving lessons because they are fun and it stimulates my brain – Ismail.
