Today we did cricket in PE and we had to learn different skills. We practised catching and batting, and we made our catching skills better by doing a move before we caught the ball. To warm up for PE, we played stuck-in-the-mud so we were ready for the lesson.
We have been learning about what makes a good story in our English lessons. We have also listened to authors online and had discussions where we built on each other’s ideas.
Sophia: I think that describing the parts of your story in detail is what makes it better.
Christopher: We learnt that a good story has problems and someone needs to help.
Umar: I like a good story to have a character that I like.
We used our ideas to plan our own story – it was the best story plans we have done all year because we made ourselves the main character. At the start of last week, we read Stop! That’s Not My Story, and that book gave us some ideas too. Before our plan, we drew the main character and came up with lots of detail about them.
