Hello, we are the P4C ambassadors at our school. In the philosophy lessons in our classes, we have been helping other children join discussions, and we have enjoyed getting them to think deeply about the big questions that we all come up with. It is nearly the end of the year, and here are our thoughts on philosophy and P4C.
Maria – I think philosophy is about looking at things that matter and asking yourself what you really think. P4C helps us because we think about our own answers. I think it also helps us share. We can learn from each other by creating ideas.
Abdul H – I wonder why people don’t ask more questions. Philosophy is important because you have to think about stuff, which helps society – society is a big community. Listening and talking together can help us make better ideas.
Saarah – I think philosophy is about making us think deeply. Without philosophy people night not think it is important to think about questions. P4C helps people treat each other fairly by making us think together – if you listen, sometimes you might change. Listening to others helps because it might make us find our own opinions inside us.
UA – P4C is about our life and other people. It can also be about whatever you are doing. I think it helps us understand how the world works and how people around you might be feeling or thinking. When I use it, I think it helps me be treated how I treat others: for example, when I listen, people listen to me.
Journie – I wonder why people think philosophy is just for children in primary schools. I have discussions with my family, and my grandad loves thinking with me. P4C matters because without it we might not stop to consider important ideas, and it helps us treat each other correctly even if we think differently. In my class, I really like whenever we get to use it in class to talk about other subjects or our topic.
Zaynab – If philosophy did not exist, there would not be a lot of questions. How can you live without questions! P4C and philosophy can make society better by getting people to think. A good society is one where people are thinking, caring and imagining.
Umkhulsum – Philosophy is not just about answers, it is also about thinking deeply. It is also important because it helps you answer most questions. A community needs philosophy so they can talk about different topics, and listening as a group helps us all understand right and wrong.
Enjoy the half-term. Thank you for reading our blog.
