Where has the time gone? It feels like we only just started Year 3, but now we are almost at the end. We can’t believe how quickly the year has flown by! What a wonderful journey we have had in Year 3.

Throughout the year, we have learned so many new things, taken on exciting challenges and created lots of special memories together. From exciting and engaging lessons and creative projects to school trips and fun celebrations, every day has brought something new to enjoy. We have worked hard, grown in confidence and supported one another along the way.

We are so proud of everything we have achieved this year. As we get ready for the next chapter, we will look back on Year 3 with happy memories and grateful hearts.

Here are some reflections from our Year 3 pupils:

Reflection by Ana and Inaaya

This year we have worked so incredibly hard! Hepworth class have been learning and building on each others ideas. In our first week in Year 3 we were shy, nervous and not sure what to do. Then we blossomed like a flower and became confident, articulate, resilient and reflective Year 3 learners. We realised that our classroom is our community, our community is supportive, caring, responsible and we are helpful. At the end of the year we all became attached like magnets which led us to form wonderful friendships, work together brilliantly and create memories that will stay with us forever. We learned that by encouraging one another and never giving up, we could achieve more than we ever imagined. As we move on to new Year 4, we will take with us the confidence, kindness and resilience that helped Hepworth class shine throughout Year 3.

Reflection by Zayan and Meraj

This year was so amazing. Hepworth Class have been learning all about division and multiplication. We have also been learning a lot about the Romans. We learnt that Julius Caesar invaded Great Britain. Our favourite part of this year was going on trips with our class. We also enjoyed doing our assemblies, especially the assembly on volcanoes and mountains!

We loved taking part in exciting lessons and working together with our friends. Some activities were challenging, but we always tried our best and never gave up. We are proud of how much we have learned and how much our confidence has grown throughout the year. Year 3 has been so fun and we have made lots of unforgettable memories that we will remember forever!

Reflection by Maria and Mehjabin

This year was the best because we had so much fun and we learnt new things that we will remember forever. One of my favourite topic was the Ancient civilisation. and the Stone age because we did so many different fun activities like created our own baskets, hand prints and drew with chalks. They were fun activities because we used our creativity and show off our skills to everyone!

This year P4C was great because our class is now good at being articulate and getting their points across in a mature way. We are now able to to agree and disagree, and build on each other ideas. We know its ok if we do not agree or believe the same thing. Everybody is allowed to have their own opinion. We are now, collaborative, caring, critical and creative learners who respect each other as a community!

Reflection by Amirah, Abida and Amal

This year has been all about learning and being a community as well as having lots of fun! We have experienced lots of things together. We also we enjoyed working as a team, helping our partners, helping our class mates and solving problems together as a community.

This year we enjoyed problem solving maths lessons because we get to explore and do practical activities that help us become better mathematicians!

Throughout the year, Hepworth class achieved things that they didn’t know before. For example, our handwriting is much better, we are better at divisions, multiplications and fractions. We even know how to write numbers in Roman numerals.

This year we celebrated David Attenborough and everything he did for our world. We also looked at how we can make our world a better place. One of the things we decided to do was look after the animals in our oceans by making sure there is no pollution and by reducing, reusing and recycling waste to keep their habitats clean and safe.

Earlier this year, we were also learning about Nelson Mandela and how he helped people. We learned about his fight for equality and fairness in South Africa and how he showed courage, determination and forgiveness. His story inspired us to think about how we can be kind, respectful and inclusive towards others every day.

Reflection by Rayyan, Suliman and Adil

“We have had a lovely time in Year 3, especially when I joined new to this school and I had no friends and I think I did not know that much. As I became more settled, I learnt more about the school and I learnt that everywhere we go we are always a community and we support and help each other and that’s what makes Hepworth class special.” Rayyan

“I joined the class late but I made friends quickly and my friends have helped me learn and I feel confident to start year 4. I am better at writing now.” Suliman

“I came to this school with no English and I couldn’t speak English but I was happy to join. The children have made me feel welcomed in Hepworth class and I love playing with my friends.” Adil

“My most memorable day of the year was the Eid party. It was so nice to be outside with my family, my friends and my community. It was nice to eat and dance with everyone. It was nice to see the teachers dancing and having fun with us!” Fatima

“I really like my teachers because they always help me with different things and they are always kind, helpful and really help me when I need help. Also, The best thing in year 3 was when teachers say jokes and make us all laugh! Sometimes it is funny but sometimes it is not but I still laugh!” Scarlett

As the year drew to a close, we enjoyed some very special celebrations together. One of the highlights was our fantastic Sports Day, where every child showed determination, teamwork and encouragement. Whether we were running races, balancing eggs and spoons, jumping, throwing or cheering from the sidelines, everyone took part with enthusiasm and a big smile. We were so proud of the way the children supported one another, celebrated each other’s successes and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout the day.

We also had a wonderful End of Year Party, which gave us the chance to come together as a class one last time and celebrate all the memories we have created. There was music, dancing, laughter and plenty of fun as we reflected on our amazing journey through Year 3. Seeing the children laughing together, sharing stories and enjoying each other’s company reminded us of just how strong our class community has become.

As we say goodbye to Year 3, our hearts are filled with pride and gratitude. This year has been about so much more than learning lessons and completing work. It has been about growing as individuals, building confidence, showing kindness, making friendships and becoming part of something special. We have watched children overcome challenges, discover new talents, support one another and achieve things they never thought possible.

Although we are excited for the adventures that Year 4 will bring, there is a part of us that will always hold Year 3 close to our hearts. The laughter shared in our classroom, the friendships that blossomed, the challenges we conquered together and the memories we created will stay with us for years to come.

To our wonderful Hepworth Class, thank you for filling every day with joy, curiosity, resilience and kindness. You have made this year truly unforgettable. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you and cannot wait to see all the amazing things you will achieve in the future.

Have a fantastic summer and remember: once you’re part of Hepworth Class, you will always be part of our community.

Finally, from Mrs Ferdush, Ms Harrington, Mr McQuaid and the Year 3 Team, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our parents and guardians for your continued support throughout the year.
