The map above shows the spread of the Great Fire of London over four days in 1666.

We are very proud to have been invited to be a part of the official commemorations for the Great Fire of London’s 350th anniversary. Savinda from Artichoke, the company behind the Lumiere London light festival, came in to help year 2 design panels which will be made as part of an art installation – a giant wooden representation of 17th century London. The artwork will be displayed in local boroughs before being set alight as the climax of the commemorations in September.

Here are some of our panel designs.

We thought about what we would like to see in London if we were asked to design it in the future. Delaunay class designed their panels today, and Tagore class will design theirs next week. We can’t wait to see the finished sculpture!

Keep an eye on this blog for more information about the location of the art installation and the event!
