Today, we had a special assembly led by an inspiring visitor, Leah Chowdhry. Leah has shown great strength, through training for both the London Marathon and swimming the English Channel. Leah was the first British-Asian woman to achieve the 14 hour swim between England and France.
Leah inspired us by talking about why she completed these feats of endurance – her why – which was to raise money for children in India, who had less opportunities in life than herself. Leah also talked about having to believe in yourself and not giving up – having resilience, which is one of our school learning dispositions.
The children of Lansbury Lawrence had lots of questions at the end! Thanks so much for sharing your story with us, Leah.
