We have done lots of amazing learning this term and we are very proud of our achievements.

SCIENCE

My favourite thing this term was the science experiment because we got to work in groups and see it dissolve ourselves” – Louie

PE

In hockey it was loads of fun to do something new because we don’t get to use hockey equipment usually.” – Yusuf

Hockey was very fun because the rules were easy to understand and learn and we were able to listen to the rules and play safely altogether.” – Tangila

We took a trip to the Buddhist Centre in Bethnal Green to participate in some secular meditation and mindfulness.

The meditation was really calm and whenever I get angry or sad I can use that skill to calm me down” – Jamila

The cushions in the meditation room were really comfortable and I got to really focus in there” – Ahmed

MATHS

We won our weekly battles to become TTRS top class twice this term, earning us the impressive trophy! We also placed 2nd in the Tower Hamlets Competition out of all the Lansbury Lawrence classes. Tasnim R, Manha and Madihah were named our most valuable players – rock on!

ATTENDANCE

We won our first weekly attendance trophy for having the highest weekly attendance as a class. We got to keep the trophy for a week and we earned 3 class tokens!

ENGLISH

We read the Selfish Giant and acted out some scenes from the story. We explored the word “selfish” in more detail too.

It was very fun acting and I felt like I was in the story” – Tangila

The drama was fun. We showed how the children had fun in the beautiful garden but then the selfish giant came and said “TRESPASSERS WILL BE PROSECUTED!” – Noor

The selfish giant also built a wall and the children tried to look over into the lovely garden” – Taheem

Poetry Slam

We participated in 4 poetry workshops with Donna, a professional writer and performer. Then, we performed poems that we wrote about climate change to Year 5 and 6. It was cool to use the stage and microphone!

Geography

In our food miles lesson we used atlas’ and our chromebooks to search how far, and where, the food came from.” – Tasnim R

To make the world a better place we can buy food with low food miles (local produce) or grow our owns foods” – Afsana and Noor
