Music was fun this week because we sang Hi-Lo-Chick-a-Lo again. We remembered the actions and the keywords like pitch and beat, then we learnt a new song called Grandma Rap.

Our English lessons had dance and drama to help us imagine a new story. We had to innovate Beyond the Pond by changing the main character, the animals in the new world and the monster that causes the problem. Beyond the Pond has a plot and so do all stories. The plot is a journey.

We learnt about 2D and 3D shapes in maths. Where the lines meet are called vertices, and another word for them is corners. These points are where two lines meet. In our class, we went on a shape hunt to find different shapes that we had to name. Some of us also did some extra maths with counters and a Chromebook. At the end of the week, we did some quizzes. I used a part-whole model to help me, and I like drawing place value charts so I know the answer quicker.

This afternoon we went to gardening with Mr Joe and forest school with Ms Boglietti. We looked for minibeasts in the gardens, and we found things like worms and centipedes under logs. We drew all the minibeasts that we found. Each group had the chance to collect kindling sticks to help Ms Boglietti make fire too.

Show & Tell was fun too because we shared and we listened. Our groups turn is next week so we have time to prepare. Oh, lunch was yummy too, and we are looking forward to learning more about habitats this half term.
