Hamilton Class have been busy learning all about Easter and the different ways some people celebrate it. As part of our wider curriculum, we read the Easter story together and discovered that Easter is a Christian festival. We talked about why this time of year is so special for many Christian families and the different traditions they enjoy.
One tradition that Reception absolutely loved was the idea of an Easter egg hunt. So, we created our own version — with a twist! Instead of eggs, the children searched high and low for hidden straws. They turned into brilliant little detectives, checking every corner until they found them all. And of course, all that hard work was rewarded with chocolate mini eggs, which made the hunt even sweeter.
Another highlight of the week was our Easter hat parade. With music playing, the children proudly walked along showing off the wonderful hats they had designed themselves. Using glitter, tissue paper, pencils, pens, and lots of imagination, they created bright, colourful masterpieces that sparkled as they paraded past their friends.
To finish off the week, Hamilton Class made delicious rice crispy treats. We carefully melted the chocolate, mixed everything together, and topped each treat with rainbow sprinkles to stay in the Easter spirit!
Hamilton Class had a fantastic end to the week, learning about Easter through hands‑on activities, creativity, and lots of fun.
