Our young members of gardening club never fail to impress; they turn up whatever the weather to tend to our little patch in the KS1 playground. Despite warnings of torrential snow yesterday, we still managed to get outside to see how our crops are doing. We were not disappointed, as the garlic is growing really well. As our plot is covered by trees in the summer, we are continually learning what we can plant. When the trees are bare in the winter, that is when our plot is at it’s best! We are currently growing garlic and onion, planting seeds inside, and chitting potatoes ready to plant next week. We are also really excited about the new edible garden in the KS2 playground, which we think will be perfect for our summer planting jobs.
