Today for DT, Y5 made eco friendly tote bags. They had an amazing time designing, making and finally evaluating their bag. The purpose of the bag was to be able to carry items inside, but also to be something made from recycled materials. They used upcycled fabrics and turned them into beautiful, practical bags! They made paper prototypes before moving onto the real fabric. Sewing machines were used to join the pieces of fabric together and add handles. Pupils decorated their bags with buttons, logos and some even drew patterns on theirs! They all came out wonderful. Have a look below to see the creativity that was being showcased today!
