It’s Christmas time in Hamilton Class! Our Reception children have been buzzing with excitement as we get creative for our upcoming Christmas show. The classroom has been filled with festive fun, and lots of colourful crafting!
This week, we made our very own reindeer artwork using paint and pastels. The children used brown paint and their hands to stamp Rudolph’s face. We then used pastels to draw his features and his bright red nose! We also created vibrant baubles. Using a range of colourful tissue paper, the children gave their baubles a lovely stained-glass effect that now makes our room sparkle with Christmas cheer.
In addition, Hamilton Class enjoyed making paper chains and snowmen, giving them plenty of opportunities to practise their fine motor skills such as cutting, joining, rolling and sticking.
Alongside decorating, the children have been working diligently on their Christmas performance. They have been practising their wonderful singing, learning a collection of festive favourites including Jingle Bells, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, It’s Christmas, Five Tubby Snowmen, and Santa Got Stuck Up the Chimney.
We are very excited to share our big performance with all our families!
