Year 6 recently enjoyed an exciting and enriching trip to the London Transport Museum, where they took part in the fantastic Coding for Capital workshop.
The session was particularly rewarding for the children, as it built on coding skills they had already developed in previous lessons. This familiarity gave them the confidence to dive straight in, deepening their understanding while practising new techniques. They had the opportunity to program trains and tracks, bringing their ideas to life through hands-on coding activities. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and problem-solving skills in action as they experimented and collaborated.
After the workshop, the children explored the rest of the museum. They had a brilliant time discovering the history of London’s transport system and were especially fascinated by the range of old trains and vehicles on display. From vintage carriages to historic buses, there was plenty to capture their imagination.
Overall, the trip was a huge success. The combination of coding, creativity, and historical exploration made for a memorable day, and Year 6 had an absolute blast!
