This week, Lichtenstein Class welcomed visitors from Wales into our classroom to see how we brought Ancient Egypt to life through movement.. Together, we explored The Landmarks Game — an activity where the children used their bodies to recreate famous Ancient Egyptian landmarks and historical figures.

Working in pairs, small groups, and as a whole class, the children used teamwork and imagination to form pyramids, sphinxes, statues, and even the flowing River Nile. Each group thought carefully about shape, balance, and movement, just like Ancient Egyptian art and architecture.

We focused on moving gracefully and powerfully, showing the words that describe the Ancient Egyptians: proud, creative, mysterious, hardworking, and brave.
Our Welsh visitors were very impressed by the children’s focus, teamwork, and creativity — they truly brought Ancient Egypt to life through dance!
Watch our performance below to see how Year 5 transformed into the wonders of Ancient Egypt!
