This half term, seven children from year 6 went to a very exciting art club run by Bow Arts to earn their Arts Award Explore certificate. Here’s Adyan to tell you more…

“In the first day, people were very excited. They were pretty curious to find out what we were going to do. The artist was called Julia. Firstly, we were drawing our masks and characters and we made the mask 3-d. We did model making! I made a box. Some children made houses and some children made forests. They had lots of ideas.

On the second day, we went on a trip to the Bow Arts studio. We met two good artists. I forgot their names but they had a studio room. They painted in there. They used sketchbooks too. There was paint everywhere on the floor and someone was drilling next door. There were lots of artists there.

The last day it was raining. I made lots of new friends from other schools and we played dodgeball in break and lunch because it was raining. We were telling stories about our characters. We had an exhibition and our parents came to see our work. We said goodbye to everyone and we considered it all a very good club. The best club. We took our work home. It was all my favourite.”
