In computing, our unit was called Programming. We learnt what a variable is. A variable is a something that changes. We used scratch to become game designers. We played a game called fruit catch which was a game about catching fruits and we had to dodge the bugs. We also made our own versions of the game and could be more creative with the variables.
Also, we used a micro:bit. A micro:bit is a computer with led lights which can create LED images. You have to connect the micro:bit to a sort of computer or chrome book. We used it to create LED image and a name badge. For example, a tree or an apple. We used it to create an algorithm. Algorithms are step by step instruction. The creator of algorithm was Al-Khwarizimi. We learnt about him in Autumn 2.
A computer is a machine that processes data. Data is information such as numbers, text, images, and sounds. We use the data to perform tasks like gaming, learning, and communicating. Computers are found in many things. These include things that are obviously computers such as laptops and smartphones. Home appliances and vehicles have computers embedded inside them. It is currently possible to embed small computers in very small things such as a credit card.
Skills:
•Problem solving
•Understanding variables
•Using commands
•Debugging
Shafaat: My favourite part was the coding it was really fun making it move.
Rayan: My favourite moment in computing is when the LEDs lit up and I also made a dancing man.
Zayed: My favourite part was coding the micro:bit to activate the LEDs to make them do the command.
Thanks for reading our blog. We hope you enjoyed it.
