Delaunay set sail on a special trip to the Cutty Sark on Monday. From the moment we arrived, the children’s excitement and anticipation filled the air as we waited for the doors to open by taking a stroll around the old ship to see what we could notice. Once on board, the towering masts and polished decks captured everyone’s imagination straight away, as well as the tales our guide shared with us about how the ship got its name.

On our exploration of each deck, the children listened closely to the information and asked curious questions all about life at sea. Many of them said it was the best trip we’ve had so far this year!

The experience aboard this real piece of history brought learning to life. From steering the ship to discovering what cargo it transported and why, every moment felt meaningful and memorable. The children showed such enthusiasm and eagerly shared what they’d learnt about the world’s oceans and continents.

It was a day full of wonder that we will all remember fondly.
