This week we have been learning so much about plants! On Tuesday we learnt all about the parts of a tree. Ms Dickman brought her special bonsai tree in for us to look at and we couldn’t believe how small it was compared to the trees outside.

The we went on a very exciting trip to Crossrail Gardens this morning. We took the DLR from Langdon Park to West India Quay. When we got to the gardens we loved looking at all the tropical plants. We walked through some incredible bamboo and even talked to the gardener there, who was doing a very good job. After we had a look around, we did some observational drawings of the plants.

This afternoon has been STEAM day. We were lucky to do some experiments with Ms Glenn and Ms Hopkins, making magnets and popcorn! In Ms Dickman’s class we looked at lots of different plants and enjoyed drawing them. We talked all about the parts of the plants as we were drawing.
