Today has been an absolutely wonderful day filled with hands‑on learning, teamwork and lots of happy faces! As part of our work on instructional writing, the children had the chance to put their skills into action by making their very own tuna wraps. There’s something special about learning by doing and the classroom was buzzing with excitement as everyone rolled up their sleeves and followed each step carefully.

Working in pairs, the children supported one another, shared ideas and made decisions together about how their wrap should look. It wasn’t just a cooking activity, it was a real celebration of collaboration, something we’ve been exploring deeply in P4C this term. We’ve had many thoughtful conversations about what it means to work as a team, how listening helps us understand others and how cooperation makes challenges easier and much more fun.

Today, we saw all of that learning come to life. There were children double checking instructions with their partners, offering gentle encouragement, laughing together when things got a bit messy and taking great pride in their final creations. And of course, the best part for many was enjoying their wraps with friends at breaktime, because food shared with friends always tastes a little better.

Practical learning days like this remind us that education is more than worksheets and lessons. It’s about experiences, connections, confidence and joy. The children didn’t just learn how to follow instructions today; they learned something far more powerful: that working together helps us all shine a little brighter.

To end our day on a thoughtful note, here’s a quote that captures the spirit of what we experienced:

“When we learn together, we achieve together.”

A simple reminder that every shared moment, whether it’s rolling a wrap, solving a problem or helping a friend, moves us all forward.
