We had such a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day in Year 1! The classroom was full of excitement as we shared and discussed our favourite books and characters. It was lovely hearing each other talk so enthusiastically about the stories we love. We then got creative by tracing some of our favourite book characters.

We also enjoyed designing our very own bookmarks. Each one was unique and colourful, and it was clear how proud we were of their creations. Hopefully we’ll be using them to mark our place in lots of brilliant books to come!

In the afternoon, the sunshine made a welcome appearance, so we took our reading outside with Hokusai and enjoyed some quiet time with our books in the fresh air. There’s something very special about reading a good story under a blue sky.
To finish our World Book Day celebrations, the teachers swapped classes and visited each other’s classrooms, which we really enjoyed. It was a lovely way to end a day filled with stories, creativity, and a shared love of reading.

Happy World Book Day! 📖🌟
