Hello!

Goldsworthy had a wonderful start to the term – we have gotten to know each other and are looking forward to even more!

We explored our new classroom…

We found out more about our families and things that make us happy.

We started to think about our classroom contract – very important for us to make sure we agreed to be safe, respectful and committed to our learning.

We added our “signatures” agreeing to the classroom contract.

We found out more about why we are called Goldsworthy and the artist behind it.

First, we collected some natural resources similar to what Andy Goldsworthy uses.
Inspired by Andy Goldsworthy’s artwork, we decorated our front covers, ready for our Year 1 learning!

We also used P4C (Philosophy for Children) to help us settle into our new class and get to know each other. We talked about big questions like “What makes a good friend?” and “How can we help everyone feel happy at school?” These sessions helped us learn to listen, to share our ideas and why its is a good idea to build a kind, caring classroom community.

We can’t wait to see what the year brings!
