The 10th of April was our first day in the Spring half term for the Year 6 Booster Sessions. This gave us a great chance to run an Intra – Competition for the sport ‘Football’. The children were split into 3 teams aiming to gain 3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and if unfortunate to lose they gained 1 point. Each team played each other once and the team with the most points at the end of the games went straight through to the final. The remaining two teams battled it out to reach the final.
All of the groups thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of applying their skills into competitive games. Teams were able to create their own positions and strategies in how to win the game against their opponents. Encouragement and praise for each other was a natural focus for the day:
- When a mistake occurs we support our teammate with positive language
- Encourage each other to try and try again
- The team who was not playing applauded great skills and encourage others to try their best
- High fives and smiles (celebrate goals and great play)
