On Wednesday Lansbury Lawrence participated in a Tower Hamlets Youth Sport Foundation Tag Rugby tournament for year 4 pupils. Several schools attended Millwall Park with at least 1 team. We were placed in groups of 7 (seven teams) in order to compete for the top two positions. The top two teams would go through to the knockout stages.
Our Lansbury Lawrence team were able to win 2 games, draw 1 game and unfortunately lose out in 3 games meaning the team finished in joint 3rd in the group. Therefore missing out on the top two positions. Although we did not make it through the children should be proud of their efforts and team work. The sportsmanship with all the other schools and children was a particular highlight showcasing mutual respect and great character.
With only learning the sport within 4 weeks in Summer term 1 this is a fantastic achievement! Also a special thank you to Liam, THYSF Rugby coach, for teaching our year 4 children the rules and skills of Tag Rugby.
Well done Year 4!!
