This week we visited the museum as part of their topic on toys. After travelling by DLR and Tube from school we arrived at the museum where we met a teacher called Mr Paul. He taught us all about old and new toys. We learnt what children in the past played with- whip top, cup and ball, roller hoops and dolls. We had the chance to play with old, wooden games and sorted toys into old and new groups. We found out that many of the toys we play with now were loved by children in the past.

After lunch we explored the galleries. We found Bunting, the cat, from our class story, ‘Lost in the Toy Museum’ as well a a Chinese rock garden and dolls’ house. We went on the rocking horses, made the robot toy light up and dressed up in costumes. It was a great day!
