In our Philosophy for Children lesson this week we talked about how we feel when we are left out, not invited to an event or spoken to unkindly. The children discussed that the Ugly Ducking must have felt sad when the mother ducks were mean to him, just because he looked different. This discussion led to our next question; Is it fair and if not what can we do about it?
In Religious Education this week we looked at the Islam religion. We discussed what it means to follow the faith of Islam. We enjoyed a video about ants being disturbed by a fire and the prophet Allah insisting that all creatures whether big or small should be protected. In O’Keeffe class the children are very respectful of all mini beasts. I am proud to say that all the children go out of their way to be kind and caring to all creatures when they find them outside.
