Last week, we transformed our learning environment to reflect our exciting new topic – Victorians!
First, we drew portraits of Queen Victoria – and they look absolutely amazing!
Then, we hung up a clothes line with Victorian era clothing and made a chimney sweep for our doorway.
Next, we created a Victorian street scene, complete with houses for the aristocratic Victorians and the Workhouse where orphans and poor Victorians (known as paupers) would have lived out their miserable lives.
Finally, we made a display showcasing the incredible devices that were invented by Victorians.
In the middle of this board, we designed a Victorian dollhouse including facts about Victorian houses. Did you know, during the Victorian era, people called their living room a ‘parlour’?
We are so proud of all our hard work and can’t wait to learn more about the Victorians!
