Hirst Class visited the Whitechapel Art Gallery again, to see the environment that they are going to be exhibiting in and continue working on the next stage of the Room for Art design. The children designed their own tiles, inspired by the Peggy Angus tiles we have in school, and the exhibition by Leonor Antunes currently on show at the gallery. The tiles will be placed together to create the ‘skin’ for the models we have already constructed, and are being professionally cast and fired by design ceramicists.
Next month we will be going in to the gallery to build part of our design in the exhibition space. We can’t wait to use wood, hammers and nails, to build our room life size!
