Hepworth and Hokusai class donned their rock wigs and reached for their air guitars as they practised their times tables on TT Rockstars in celebration of Maths Week England.

The competition runs from Monday 8th – Thursday 11th and will see students from competing schools across the nation battling it out to see who will reign as the times tables champions. Times Tables Rockstars is a fun and challenging programme that helps children to master their times tables. It prompts quick and accurate recall of multiplication and division facts using specially designed games that can be accessed online or via paper worksheets. Our children’s regular practice at home and at school is helping them to become Times Table Rockstars ⭐️🎸

Now in it’s third year, Maths Week England aims to:

  • Raise the profile of mathematics throughout England.
  • Change the conversation about maths in the population at large to be more positive.
  • Enable children and adults from all social and economic backgrounds to access and enjoy interesting mathematical experiences.
  • Support teachers to plan special low-cost high-impact maths activities at their own schools during Maths Week.
  • Encourage Higher-Education centres to invite schoolchildren to visit for maths events, in order to raise aspirations and encourage a higher take-up of the study of maths at A-level and university.
  • Make maths accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
