Today in Van Gogh Class, the children learned about food and nutrition as part of Design Technology. First we learned about the eatwell plate, and the different proportions of food groups that we should eat per day. Fruit and Vegetables, and Bread, Rice, Potatoes and Pasta were the two largest groups; that’s what our diet should contain the most of.

We made pitta bread pizza, which had lots of healthy vegetables on. We chopped the vegetables ourselves after washing our hands. We grated cheese, and arranged our toppings on top of delicious tomato passata. When we had finished making our pizzas they were baked in the oven.
