In year 1 today we looked at aerial photographs of farmland. We were surprised to see the different shapes and colours juxtaposed with each other, and decided to make our own version. First we painted backgrounds in varying shades of green. Some of us practised our mark making skills we had learnt previously, and we all remembered how to hold a paintbrush – like a pencil!
Next we explored printmaking through adding detail to our paintings by rolling printing ink on to corrugated cardboard. The lines made looked like the lines seen in fields from above, where crops are sown.
Finally, we looked at our work together. It looked amazing! I wonder if this is what Farmer Duck’s farm looks like from above?
