This week in 6B, we discussed the question ‘Does being born in a country meant you belong there?’ We established that there are two main views held amongst our pupils.
1 – You completely belong to the country you are born in
2 – There are levels of belonging. You belong a lot to the country that you live in, but also a little to the country you were born in.
Other opinions that came up as part of our session were: having a passport means you can prove your citizenship and you only belong to a country you are on holiday in if your parents were born there.
