Dear Parents and Carers

This week in assembly we have been learning about Harvest. We harvest our own food in school through our Edible Playground, which all children have turns to manage alongside our gardener. Our harvested food is then sold to our community at the end of the day on Monday and Wednesday. Additional to this continual harvest, every year at Harvest Festival time, we collect tinned and packaged food from our community to donate to charities, so that other people may have food to eat in a time of need. Thank you to everyone who donated food this year, which has been collected today by the First Love Foundation, a charity that manages food banks in Tower Hamlets.

Class Exhibition – Tuesday 16th October – 3.15pm

There is a slightly earlier pick up time on Tuesday next week, because it is our first class exhibition event of the new academic year. Parents and carers are invited to your child’s classroom to experience something that has been learnt this half term. There have been some amazing learning themes, including Stone Age to Iron Age, Ancient Greeks, Parliament and the Great Fire of London. The children have been engaging with these themes through songs, drama, science and lots of other exciting learning – which they want to share with you. Please note that clubs are cancelled next Tuesday, so that all of our families can attend the exhibition event.

Oragami Club

Some children in year 2 have been coming to Origami Club on Tuesdays. We have been having an amazing time. This week we made and decorated paper fish before creating an ocean with things we found in the classroom for a photo shoot. The children in this club are benefiting from the fine motor skills used in origami, developing listening to instructions and social skills. This week the children were doing group role play with their fish and having a great time!
