After looking at the work of British architects, Richard Rogers, Norman Foster and Zaha Hadid, Delaunay Class designed their own megastructures. They then went on to collaborate with friends to build a megastructure, using newspaper and masking tape. We rolled the newspaper in to sticks to make it stronger, and one of the challenges was to build a structure that could stand up by itself. It was very tricky at first but by the end of the lesson, through perseverance and working around design problems, there were five unique megastructures standing proud!
Perhaps one day we will see buildings designed by one of the year 2 architects in London?
