The close of an eventful term saw Hokusai eagerly awaiting today’s Easter hat parade. Congratulations to Yusuf, Zain and Aisha whose hats made full use of recycled material and particularly dazzled the judges, and well done to all the students for their efforts.

Some of our creations.
The winning staff hat: Ms Atif joining in the Easter fun too.

Our learning this half term has been focused on mountains, volcanoes and Diwali. We learnt that the themes in the Diwali story are similar to those celebrated in other religions, and we also answered the question: “Where are the mountains of the world and how are they formed?”

Diwali “diyas”
“We made our diyas out of clay. After waiting for them to dry, we decorated them using our favourite Rangoli patterns.”
