As Hokusai’s focus in science is now on plants, we have been making the most of the school’s green spaces to identify, describe, investigate and explore. On a recent Roman plant hunt, the children were surprised to learn about the species of plants on our grounds that have their origins in the Roman Empire, and they took pictures of the different parts of a plant that we’ve been discussing in class.

“I’ve found something.”

“Let’s take a closer look . . .”

Later this week, we’ll be finishing our investigation into the optimum conditions needed for plants to grow and stay healthy.
