It was a beautiful, warm afternoon for Forest School this afternoon and we began with a sensory walk, feeling the different textures, listening out for any natural sounds (trying hard to block out the man made sounds of the road!) and smelling different plants in the Secret Garden.

We were particularly interested in the lemon mint and so made some tasty lemon mint tea – washing the leaves first then adding them carefully to hot water. Some of us also added (a lot) of sugar! We sat in the garden sipping our natural tea and discussing what benefits we get from spending time in nature and the importance of looking after it.

We finished up with a calming tree meditation and even took away some extra rubbish that people had left – leaving it clearer than before!

I loved the taste of the lemon mint leaves

We need to look after nature because it provides us with oxygen
